Obituary of Frank R. Cantrall.

Frank Ross Cantrall was born near Waynesville, Ill., November 30, 1865; died at his home, 515 North Ninth street, Fredonia, Kansas, December 23, 1914. He was sick but a few hours, the cause of his death being acute indigestion.

Mr. Cantrall had been a resident of Wilson county 38 years, having come to the county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Cantrall in 1876. In his early manhood he came to Fredonia and worked for several years in the real estate office of C.R. Cantrall, his uncle. While quite young he united with the Presbyterian church and has been a consistent member of that church ever since. He was married to Miss Mary L. Lansden, December 24, 1891, and she survives him, together with the two little adopted girls, Fay and Ray. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert of this city, and Charles of Princeton, New Jersey; and a sister, Mrs. Ollie Wilson, north of Fredonia.

Frank R. Cantrall was well known in the state of Kansas, as Deputy Master Workman for the A.O.U.W. lodge, in which capacity he served many years. This work he gave up in 1907, and went into the livery and bus business, that he might spend more time in his home, where he loved to be, and where during the last year he could most often be found ministering to his family and ailing mother, who passed away November 1 of this year.

Mr. Cantrall continued in the bus and livery business for six years, after which he was elected constable and in connection with that work made a speciality of collecting. At the time of his death he held the position of district deputy organizer for the Homesteaders, and was expecting to go to work for that order January 1st. He was a member of the Masonic order, the A.O.U.W. and Homesteaders.

The community feels in this man's death a great loss. He was admired by many in the city, the county, and the state, because of his honorable, upright life and pleasing manner.

The family have the sympathy of all.

Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. D.S. Honsaker, of Wichita, his former pastor.

Those who came from out of town to attend the funeral were Mrs. Geo. W. Crawford of Topeka; Mrs. John Lansden of Rochelle, Ill.; Mrs. Harriet Crawford of Newton.
