Mrs. Jennie Abbey
Mrs. Jennie C. Abbey, 80, of East Smethport died last Thursday night in Bradford Hospital.
She was born here Sept. 26,1890, daughter of John and Anna Carlson Malen, and had lived in this area her entire life. She married Burdette (Burt) Abbey here Feb. 10, 1910, and he died in June of
1966.
Surviving are five sons, Carl J., William J., Iver L., Burdette L. Jr., and Homer P. Abbey, all of East Smethport; three daughters, Mrs. William Kennedy
and Mrs. Wesley Eckstrom of Smethport, and Mrs.
Raymond Larson of Eldred; 10 grandchildren; f i v e greatgrandchildren; t h r e e halfsisters,
Mrs. Marie Bloomquist and Mrs. Donald Gallup of here and Mrs. Leonard Robinson of Bellefonte, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at the Fry Funeral Home at 2 pm. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Calvin Miller of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Bearers, all grandsons, were G i l b e r t , Kennedy, Robert Larson, Terry Lord, William Abbey Jr., Carl Abbey and Thomas Abbey.
