MRS. MARY ACRE.
Mrs. Mary Acre died at the Safstrom Nursing Home at East Smethport, Thursday, June 30th, 1932.
Mary Elizabeth, oldest daughter of J. Beaman and Catherine Stickles Oviatt, was about 80 years of age. She had spent her entire life in McKean County, except for a few years. She was united in marriage to Byron Acre, who preceded her to the great beyond about five years ago.
Deceased is survived by five children: Seeley and Mrs. Rena Canfield of Cole Creek; Thomas Oviatt; Obed and Mrs. Lytle Ingram of Smethport; Mrs. Carrie Hyde of Farmdale, O., Mrs. Hazel Herbeck, another daughter died about ten years ago. Besides eighteen grandchildren, she leaves the following brothers and sisters: Edwin, John B. and Carrie Oviatt, Mrs. Ida Pickersgill, and Mrs. Sarah Armstrong of Smethport.
The remains were taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Sarah Armstrong Friday. A prayer service was held at the house Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and funeral services at the First Baptist Church at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. J. E. Besant officiating; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The pallbearers were: William, Beaman and Allen Hyde, Robert and George Oviatt and Tom Bryan, all nephews of the deceased.
