Frank Pershing Hopwood died Monday morning, July 21, 1919 at the hospital in Sherman, Texas. His unexpected death comes a s a shock to his many friends here. It was only last week that he was seemingly in fairly good health. The latter part of last week he was suddenly taken ill and left for the hospital at Sherman.
We all knew Frank, he was a good fellow, and was well liked by everybody, and his death will be learned by his friends with no little regret.
He leaves a wife, the former Lucie Anna Lankford and one child, Frank Pershing Hopwood, Jr.
He was the son of a Congressman Hopwood of Pennsylvania, and his wife is the daughter of Dr. Lankford. He has a brother, Sam Hopwood, of Bentley, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hopwood has lived in Atoka for a number of years, had the respect and friendship of all who knew him and was a good citizen.
We most sincerely regret his death, and extend sympathy and condolence to his bereaved family.
