Frances G. Wilbers Strope, 84, Jefferson City, died April 12, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1914, in St. Elizabeth, a daughter of John and Josephine Bode Wilbers. She was married to Otto Strope, who preceded her in death. A former St. Elizabeth resident, she worked as a cosmetologist in the St. Louis area before retiring. She moved to Jefferson City 15 years ago. She had been a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth, and was a member of St. Ann.s Sodality. Survivors include: one niece, Sister Elizabeth Ann Wilbers, Los Angeles, Calif.; and one nephew, Bernard Wilbers, Jefferson City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth. The Rev. John Degnan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, St. Elizabeth, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
