Graveside services for James Edward Irvin, 83, Athens are scheduled for 11:00 A M Wednesday at Oaklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Kelly Carnes officiating.

Arrangements are with Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Mr. Irvin died January 16, 2011 in Athens.

He was born September 7, 1927 in Murchison to the late Will Osburne and Matilda Minor Irvin and resided in Athens most of his life. He served in the United States Army and later the United States Marine Corps being discharged from the Reserve in 1960. James was manager for Pitt Grill Diner in Athens 30 years retiring in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Joyce in 1996; daughter Brenda Joyce, granddaughter Tressa George, one brother and five sisters.

Survivors include sons Eddie W. Irvin and wife Patricia, Dew; Danny L. Irvin and wife Jean, Athens, Larry G. Irvin and wife Becky, Flint; grandchildren Tracy, Joey, Daniel and Wayne Irvin, Charity Herriage, Sheila Aujero; 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Irvin, Tommy Durden, Joe Irvin, James Crutchfield, Bugey Andrews, Eugene Aujero.

Gerald Loden will serve as Honorary pallbearer.
