"A Former DeRuyter Resident Passes Away At Hollywood, Calif.
Albert Lincoln Marshall, one-time resident of DeRuyter, passed away, at his late residence in Hollywood, California, on Tuesday, February 15, after a brief illness, leaving two sons, Leon W. Marshall and Harrison S. Marshall, a daughter, Mary M. (Mrs. F. Ray) Risdon, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren to survive him. Born at Georgetown, N. Y., on October 23, 1862, the son of Sidney Marshall and Arvilla Wolcott Marshall, the deceased was in his 87th year, at the time of his passing. Before leaving for California, in June 1914, Mr. Marshall had been a resident of Syracuse, N. Y., and for the past 35 years made his home in Hollywood, a suburb of Los Angeles, retiring from active work as a journeyman carpenter and cabinet maker shortly after building there. His wife, the late Edith Lord Marshall, to whom he was married at East Pharsalia, N. Y., on April 5, 1884, preceded him in death on April 20, 1944, following their 60th anniversary. Funeral services for the deceased were held at the chapel in the Hollywood Cemetery, Friday afternoon, February 18, with interment in the Hollywood Mausoleum. Reed Bros., Tapley and Geiger, morticians, were in charge, with the Rev. Will A. Jennings, pastor of the Colton Methodist Church, as officiating clergyman."
