WIDELY KNOWN FARMER BURIED IN CITY TODAY.

J.P. Barrington Died Sunday Morning at His Home Here.

Last rites were held from the Episcopal Church at 3:00 this afternoon for J.P. Barrington,65, highly esteemed farmer of this city, who died at his home at 205 South William St Sunday at 10:05 a.m. following an extended illness.

Rev R.N. MacCallum officiated and interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Masons had charge of the services at the cemetery. Pallbearers were J.J. Woodhouse, A.T. Anderson, W.H. Smith, J.A. Jamison, J.M. Beckman & S.F. Hotzheuser. Goldman-Waters had charge of arrangements.

James Percy Barrignton was born in Mississippi Oct 1 1872, son of Robert W. Barrington and Annie Barrington, native of Mississippi. He came to Texas 30 years ago and resided in the Telferner community until a short time ago.

Mr. Barrington was one of the county's most beloved citizens. He was extremely active in all types of agricultural work, being one of the founders of the Farmers Luncheon Club. Mr. James Percy Barrington,
also was the owner of Victoria Steam Laundry.

Suviving are his wife Mrs Henrietta Butler Barrington,(adopted)son Charles Percy Barrington (Jess Caldwell Lyles Jr)and grandson James Percy Barrington all of this city.

Mr. Barrington is a native of Sardis, Miss., where he was born 59 years ago. He came to Texas at the age of 16 and made his home at Dallas, Waxahachie, Waco, Corpus Christi and San Antonio before locating in Victoria almost a quarter of a century ago.

He came here 1907 and the same year purchased the Victoria Steam Laundry, continuing to operate the plant until about 12 years ago, when he retured to farming, a pursuit he had followed from boyhood
