Edra M. Fusselman, 83, of Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Quincy, died at 5 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 15, 2011) in the Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.
Born June 16, 1927, in Camp Point, Edra was a daughter of William Ralph and Ruth Bell Heathman Mullen. She married Malcolm Lee Naderhoff in 1952 in Quincy. He died in 1985. She married Arlen Emerson "Bill" Fusselman on May 1, 1965, in Payson. He died on July 22, 1990.
Edra had a great love and gift of music and founded the Quincy Volunteer Voices in the 1980s and served as director until 1995. After moving to Texas, she founded the Beaumont Volunteer Voices in 2000 and served as director until her death.
Edra was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vidor, Texas, and the Vidor chapter of Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS).
Mrs. Fusselman was employed as a surgical technician at St. Mary Hospital in Quincy for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include three children, Aleta Naderhoff Fox and her husband, Clyde, of Vidor, Malcolm Naderhoff and his wife, Debra, of Kennesaw, Ga., and Sharon Sorenson and her husband, Keith, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a daughter-in- law, Ann Mullen of Green Bay, Wis.; five grandchildren, Scott David Mullen and his wife, Angie, of Jacksonville, Fla., Elizabeth Mullen Worachek and her husband, James, of Fresno, Calif., Jeffrey Sorenson of Grand Rapids, Brian Sorenson of Grand Rapids, and Riley Emerson Nash of Vidor; six great-grandchildren, Sydney Mullen and Mason Mullen, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Emily Worachek, Kayla Worachek and Gracie Worachek, all of Fresno, Calif., and Althea Aline Sorenson of Grand Rapids; a brother, Duane Mullen of Orange Park, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Bette Jean Mullen of Quincy; a brother-in-law, John Pace of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fusselman was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Malcolm Lee Naderhoff and Arlen Emerson "Bill" Fusselman; a son, David Mullen; a sister, Betty Pace; and two brothers, Robert Mullen and Doyle Mullen.
SERVICES: 2 p.m. Friday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Morwell. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
VISITATION: noon until the time of services Friday in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: First United Methodist Church of Vidor.
