James Hickman, DAR Ancestor Number A054853, was one of the Heroes who fought at the Battle of King's Mountain.with his brother Joel and his father James Hickman. He served in Col Francis Taylors regiment headquartered at Albermarle Barrscks. As a professional soldier for mucj of his life he was battle hardened. His battles included two of the man killing battles of the Revolution. HE WA WITH elite Troops under Mad Anthony Wayne at the Battle of Stoney Point. A hard and bloody battle. At Guilford Courthouse he was in as deadly a battle in the Revolution. At one point in the battle Lord Cornwallis had his Gunners Fire into the mixed Rebels and English Redcoats to stop tge Rebels from overcoming the British. Captain Hickman was at Kimgs Mountain when Rebels destroyed a British Army.
