Ted Goldston, 62, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Petersburg with Rev. Don Raney officiating. Interment will follow in Strip Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Ted was born on October 14, 1948 in Plainview to William Aaron and Ruth Grace Goldston. He grew up in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1967. He then graduated from West Texas State in 1972. He worked in the insurance industry and worked for the Rain and Hail Insurance Service for 18 years before retiring in 2007. He worked as a Field Supervisor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg; he was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite.
He married Zelma Joyce Dunn on March 18, 1972 in Abernathy.
He is survived by his wife Zelma Goldston of Petersburg; two sons, Brad Goldston and wife Amber of Petersburg, Bryan Goldston of Petersburg; one sister, Trell Meadows of Peterburg; three grandchildren and one on the way, Kathryn Goldston, Aaron Tyler Goldston, Jacie Goldston all of Petersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ruth Goldston.
