Santa Barbara Brevities


George Porteous of Los Angeles, formerly of this city, died yesterday at the home of J. H. Burson at the age of 24, of diabetes. Porteous came here several months ago for his health. The remains were taken yesterday evening to Los Angeles for interment.

According to the 1900 census he was a resident of Los Angeles, residing with his mother, Mary, and younger brother and sister. He was born in December of 1877 and was employed as a contractor.
