Vernon Homer Adkins, 76, of Granbury
Services for Vernon Homer Adkins, 76 of Granbury were 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Baum Carlock Bumgardner Chapel with burial in the Sturdivant Cemetery. Minister Kenneth McMinn officiated with Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr Adkins died Monday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1915, at Tarrant County, the son of Walter and Minnie Miller Adkins.

Mr. Adknis married Othell McMinn in 1937 at Mineral Wells. He was in business in Midland from 1947 to 1968 as an electrical contractor. He came to Mineral Wells in 1968. He was a member of the Sturdivant Church of Christ, Whitt Masonic Lodge #624, Lubbock Valley Scottish Rite Lodge and a 32 Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Othell Adkins of Meridian; one daughter, Linda Howze of Granbury; one son, Butch Adkins of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, Monja Doyle of Fredericksburg, Page Adkins and Le Ann Bohannah both of Las Vegas and Tippi Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Martin of Dallas and one nephew, Wallace Bounds of Fort Worth.

Mr Adkins was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Wayne Howze in 1981. - obituary
