Nancy's father was Joe Deason. She had two older brothers who fought in the Irish Rebellion of 1798, The Battle of Vinegar Hill. These same two brothers also fought in the war of 1812 after they arrived in America. She married Jeremiah O'Sullivan in 1037, in Montgomery Alabama. Jeremiah was an Irish immigrant. When they had their 9 children baptized in the Catholic church, they dropped the O from their last name.
