Bowen R. Stephens, a highly respected resident of Whiteley township, died at his home near Newtown, Monday evening, April 24, aged 88 years, of infirmities incident to advanced years. Mr. Stephens had followed farming all his life and was quite successful. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Beside his wife, Adeline, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Frank (Della) Shriver, Mrs. Melvin (Lida) Zimmerman, Furman E. and James B. Stephens, of Whiteley township; Mrs. Josie (Nora) Lemley and Mrs. Ross (Grace) Shultz, of Perry Township; Mrs. Margaret (Jeroma) Shultz, of Hopedale, Ohio, Hartford and Miss Salome Stephens, at home.
