Orville T. Albers, 66, 3420 Old Lakeport Road, died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital following a short illness. Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Richard W. Pingel, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Albers was born on the family homestead near Danbury, Iowa, on October 22, 1917, to Thomas and Meta Hunwardsen Albers. He attended country school in rural Danbury and received his high school equivalency from Western Iowa Tech in 1970. After serving in the Army Air Corps in World War II, he farmed near Danbury for a couple of years and also worked for Drews Chevrolet in Mapleton for several years. He owned and operated Albers Oil Company for a number of years. Later he worked for the Iowa Treasury Department for three years and sold mutual funds and insurance until June, 1976, when illness forced him to retire. He moved to Sioux City in 1967. Mr. Albers was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, the V.F.W., Laurens Shull Post 580 and the American Legion Monahan Post 64. Survivors include a son, Thomas, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Alva (Eldora) Wiedemann of Anthon, Mrs. Don (Lola) Pearson of Sioux City, and Mrs. Morrelle (Darlene) Christiansen of Ida Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eveleynne LeFebvre
