A former violin teacher who studied the Violin at Findlay College, she and her husband owned and operated the Bryan Hatchery for many years. She was a Sunday School teacher at the West Bethesda Church. She was preceded in death by her husband F. Dewey Cox, a daughter in law Jean Cox and her sister Helen Cummins.
