Aged 48 years, 3 months, 18 days. Wife of Raymond A. Pettigrove, mother of William A. Pettigrove of Hayward, sister of Mrs. Francis McAllister and Louis Parkinson of Hayward, sister in law of Ruth Lewis of Hayward. Burial 2 Aug 1962.

Mae was a very warm and loving person with a great sense of humor. She loved kids, was an excellent mother to her son Bill, and a comforting surrogate mom to one of her nephews. Mae was full of fun. She loved the outdoors, camping, cookouts, etc.

Very close to her mother Hazel, Mae took Hazel into her own home and cared for her in her old age. It was no easy task, as Hazel became partially paralyzed after a stroke. However, Mae was undaunted, and she cared for Hazel with the same attitude she had for any difficulty in her life - with love and humor.

Mae died of cancer. Her death left a wound in the hearts of many - so very loved by all who knew her.
