Riggs, Dorothy P. 90, of Hart, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, following a short illness. She was born Aug. 13, 1916 in Muskegon to Paul and Ida May (Strue) Zemke. Dorothy was united in marriage to Albert Riggs, Sr. Feb. 6, 1937 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Muskegon. She was employed for 31 years at Westfield Summers in Hart, until her retirement in 1979. She resided in Mears, prior to her moving to Hart. Dorothy was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. She enjoyed Bingo seven days a week and listening to gospel music 24 hours a day. But most of all she enjoyed her very large and loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Griffin of Hart; 17 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Clarence) Parker of Muskegon; three daughters-in-law, Sharon Riggs and Darleen Riggs, both of Hart and Joella Riggs of Mears; also several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Albert Riggs, Sr., three sons, Paul, Albert Jr. and Clarence Riggs; one daughter, Laura Lee Riggs; one granddaughter, Sondra Kay Riggs; one great great grandson, Blair James Aguilar; one sister, Henrietta Hall; two brothers, Clarence and Walter Zemke. The Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. from St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Schneider, presiding. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery.
