Eva was born circa 1893, daughter of Fred Drilling and Sarah Bradford. She was married to Harry Ransom on 16 November 1926. "A Traverse City resident for most of her life, Mrs. Ransom worked in many restaurants in the area and served as a civilian cook at the Traverse City Naval Air Base during WW II. She retired from the S.S. Kresge Store after working there for many years. She was a member of Wisteria Rebekah Lodge." (Traverse City Record Eagle, 30 November 1976, page 8, column 4).
