Richard Herschel Laird, 41, passed away on April 11, 1992 at his home in Washington D.C.
He was born January 17, 1951 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He graduated from Fort Hunt High School in Alexandria, Virginia in 1969. He served in Vietnam as an aviator in the U.S. Army, rank CW2 with 82 MED DET 1970-1971, 101 ABN. He was a VHPA member. He received his undergraduate degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida and a MBA degree from Xavier University. He was an investment banker, president of the Equity Group, an investment marketing corporation, and chairman of Mountain Rain Inc., the first national bottled water company.
He is survived by his parents Travis Herschel Laird and Carole Ann Laird; his son Travis Joseph Laird; his siblings, Susan Jenkins, Marjorie Givarz and David Travis Laird; and nieces and nephews.
Interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, Mississippi.
