Obituary from the Gazette and Daily, dated June 11, 1945: Levi M. Krout, husband of the late Sarah Ness Krout, and a director in the Glen Rock State Bank, died at his home here at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Death came after several weeks illness of complication of diseases. He was 82 years old. The survivors are eight children. Walter C. Krout and Mrs. Charles Hamberger York RD 2; Mrs. Wilmer Markle, York; Edward Krout, Dallastown RD; John Krout, this place; Chauncey Krout, Rome N.Y.; Mrs Walter Markey, York RD 2; Mrs. Gordon Griffith, York; a brother Daniel Krout Glen Rock RD; a sister, Mrs. Laura Lecrone Dallastown; 41 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren. Mr. Krout was a member of Friedensaal's Lutheran (White) church; a member of the Board of Directors of the Glen Rock State Bank and secretary of the Loganville co-operative association. The funeral will be held Wednesday with brief services at the late home at 10 a.m. followed by concluding rites in Friedensaal's (White) church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. M. L. Kroh pastor of the Seven Valleys Lutheran Charge will officiate assisted by the Rev. S. C. Godfrey, Church of the Brethren minister. Funeral Director Harry C. Geiple, Glen Rock has charge of the arrangements. age 82 years 4 months and 21 days.
