Madison--Dr. Wallace E. Childs, 77, of Broadway St., died Saturday at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was a native of Kokomo, a flight surgeon as a lieutenant colonel for the U.S. Air Force, a retired radiologist at King's Daughters' Hospital, an Air Force veteran of World War II, a former member of the Jefferson County School Board, a former board member of the Lide White Boys Club and a member of Rotary Club, Madison Presbyterian Church and Fellow American College Radiology.

Survivors include his wife, the former Ann Waybright; two daughters, Victoria Sorrells of St. Louis and Kim Childs of Brewster, N.Y.; a sister, Kathryn Cassidy; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Vail-Holt Funeral Home, with cremation to follow.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Historic Madison, Inc. or to King's Daughters' Hospital.
