Wilfred Gordon Hardy was born to David Lawrence Hardy and Minnie Dowswell in 1894. He had a younger brother named Stewart R. Hardy. The entire family moved from London, Ontario to Aberdeen, S.D. around 1910 and in about 1915 moved to Ft. Worth, Texas. All these moves were so that David could take a job as a confectioner and candy maker. Gordon worked in Ft. Worth with his father at King Candy Company and met Ruby Inez McBrayer there and they were married in early 1916, and Gordon's only child was born Dec. 10, 1916 in Ft. Worth. Gordon moved back to Canada soon thereafter and he and Ruby were later divorced. Gordon later married (Gladys Emma Maker and also) Gladys B. (Saugstad? unknown?)(and he and Gladys B. had issue one son, Robert Hardy) in Ontario, while he worked as a conductor on Grand Trunk Railway and they were married there, and moved to Detroit where Gordon managed an apartment building. Gordon and Gladys Emma Maker were divorced, filed on March 5, 1937 and granted on Jan. 24, 1938, in Michigan state files. Gordon Hardy died 19 Feb. 1946 of unknown causes (no death certificate found yet) in Michigan.
