He and his twin sister, Verna, were born April 14, 1922 in Kaysville, Utah to George Lambert and Nettie Alberta Cottrell Blamires. He married Elizabeth Logsdon on June 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Vernon was a Sampler at U.S. Steel, Geneva Works, and served in the Air Force during World War II in the China-India-Burma Campaign. He served in the LDS Church as a Ward Clerk for sixteen years. He and Betty enjoyed doing temple work. Vernon was an avid gardener and always kept a beautiful yard.
Survived by his wife of Lehi; two daughters, Larraine Blamires, Murray; Charlene (Jim) Thomson, Glendora, CA; three grandchildren; and brother Hermon Blamires, Layton. He is preceded in death by a daughter Ann (Leland) Moon, and granddaughter Melanie Moon.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi Second Ward Chapel, 465 East 300 North. Friends and family may call on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main Street, Lehi, and Saturday at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Lehi City Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the VFW.
