Edgar V. Carter, section foreman on the Center Point branch of the Pennsylvania railroad for many years, died at 9:15 this morning at the home south of the city in Jackson township after a protracted illness of heart trouble and complications, age 63 years and nine months.
Mr. Carter was born in this city and spent his earlier life in Brazil, later moving to a farm in Jackson Township.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Mary E. Carter, four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Elizabeth McDermott, Mrs. Almeda Raab, Mrs. Ben Boyd, Mrs. Hester McGill and Joe Carter, all of Jackson township, and Edgar Carter, Jr. of Indianapolis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother and two half-brothers, William Carter, of Jackson township, and Martin and Charles Metzger, of Alabama
Funeral services will be announced tomorrow.
