She was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Warren, a daughter of the late Christian and Georgia Pearle Gabriel Marker. A 1931 graduate of Warren High School and Warren Conservatory of Music, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Friendship Class, United Methodist Women, and Daughters of American Colonists. She was the first woman trustee of the church, where she held offices with Circle Eight, Draggin' Wheels and Ramblin' Squares Square Dance Clubs, and Tarrs Stars Round Dance Club. She received the Thanks Badge, the highest award in the Girl Scouts of America.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin R. Haupin in 1988; and a grandson, Robert Lloyd Haupin, in 1973.
She is survived by a daughter, Jene Haupin, at home; three sons, Larry G. Haupin, Warren, Vincent R. Haupin, Thompson Station, Tenn., and David A. Haupin, Wheaton, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
No public visitation will be observed. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Higgenbotham, pastor, and the Rev. Wayne Price, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
