Williams, Medical Director, Army of the Potomac, "Dear Sir, I deem a duty to inform you that on Tuesday the 24th last, Dr. Ed. A. Craighill, Asst. Surg, C. S. A. arrived at his Father's in this town & immediately came under my professional care very sick with Typhoid fever. He has been ill, but for the last two days his condition has promised more favourably, & I now hope he will recover & be in due time restored to health. Some time, at the best to be expected, to fit him up again for the discharge of the responsible duties of his position, but I hope the misfortune of the attack will not lessen or
