Colleen J. Beghtel, 73, 288 Commercial St., Roanoke, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2001) at her home. Mrs. Beghtel retired from Wayne Feeds in Fort Wayne. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post 160, where she had served as president, both in Roanoke; and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Hartford City to Harry and Ruth Penrod Schmidt. Her parents survive and live in Warren. She married George Beghtel at Christ United Methodist Church, Roanoke, on Sept. 1, 1946. Her husband survives. She is also survived by a sister, Joyce Mickley Worster, Warren.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Kaye Patton will officiate. Burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
