Cause of death: New Castle News/ Thursday April 9th 1931, New Castle Pa. Elderly Woman is Severely Burned Special to the News- Grove City April 9th Mrs. Mary Sahm aged 76 of Grace street was severely burned this morning while burning some old papers in the yard when a flash of flame ignited her clothing.With rare presence of mind, Mrs. Sahm secured some water and extinguished the burning clothing but not before she had sustained severe surface burns on the upper part of her body. She is suffering considerably from the shock. Her recovery is anticipated.
