Herman Kessler, age 95 of Tampa Avenue in Albany died on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Albany, Mr. Kessler was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Cornell University and received his Masters degree from New York University. Herman had been employed for many years for the New York State Department of Aging retiring in 1976. He was a long time member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany and was an Army Veteran and served during World War II.
Mr. Kessler was married to Anne Rossen Kessler until her passing in January of 1992. Loving father of Stephen E. Kessler and his wife Yvonne of Rotterdam, NY. Cherished grandfather of Gregory Kessler. Herman also leaves his step grandchildren, Christina and William Clarke. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, David and Sam Kessler.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Monday December 13, 2010 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville, NY. Those wishing to remember Herman in a special way may make a memorial contribution to St. Peter's Hospice Inn 315 South Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Stephen and Yvonne Kessler, 1708 Dorsett Street in Rotterdam, NY on Monday following the service of interment and also on Tuesday and Wednesday December 14 and 15.

He married Anne Rossen 11 Feb 1940 in Buffalo, Erie, New York.
