Margaret R. Pelcher, age 86 of Clare, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at home. Margaret was born the daughter Frank and Rose (Alderdice) Wood on August 9, 1924 in Kalkaska. She had worked for the Holley Carburetor plant in Clare for 23 years. Margaret's true calling in life was as a Emergency Foster Care Parent, which she had done since the late sixties. During her time as a Foster Mother she had cared for over 400 children. Margaret enjoyed flowers, and reading the Bible and Westerns. She was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Margaret is survived by her children Larry (Naomi) Clark of Oregon, Sherry (Doc) Thompson of Florida, Linda (Sidney) Hall of Wyandotte, Neil (Becky) Clark of Texas, Angela (Jeremy) Praay of St. Johns, Edwin (Terressa) Carson of Clare, and Pauline Letson of Clare, William Pelcher, Marla Pelcher, Carrie Naumes, and Troy Pelcher, all of Mt. Pleasant. Margaret is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and foster children as well as a large extended family. Margaret was predeceased by her parents and nine siblings.

Services for Margaret were held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 9625 E. Pickard Street, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 48858.
Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
