Lunenburg, Feb. 20 - On Monday, Feb. 19, the death occurred of Daniel Berringer, one of Lunenburg's leading business men, at the age of 54. Born at North West, Lunenburg County, he came to this town to open a barber shop, and as the years went by greatly increased his standing in the business world, now owning also a service station and an up-to-date grocery store. He was in good health until recently when he became ill with influenza and complications. Surviving are his wife, three children, six stepchildren, two sisters and four brothers.

The community was shocked Monday to learn of the sudden passing of D.J. Berringer, well known barber and proprietor of a grocery store.

Deceased had been ill only a few days, suffering from a cold which later developed into pneumonia and caused his death.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two children, Lillian and Pauline, also one son, Elmer. Also surviving are six step-children, Murray Haughn, serving with the C.A.S.F., in England; Oswald and Harry, associated with him in the grocery business; Lucille, Mrs. Victor Corkum; and Daisy and Isabel, all of Lunenburg, Two brothers, Enos and John; and a sister, Mrs. Johnson Falkenham, are left to mourn their sad loss.

The funeral was held from his late residence today.
