Professional football player & coach. Frank Filchock played football at Indiana University, and had a pro career as a quarterback with the Pittsburgh Pirates (now the Steelers), the Washington Redskins, and the New York Giants. After playing football in Canada for three years, Filchock was reinstated to the NFL, but never played professionally again. In 1960, he became the first head coach of the Denver Broncos of the the new American Football League. He would be dismissed from the job after two subpar seasons, compiling a record of 7-20-1.
