Zella Mae Asmussen, 94, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, in a Waco nursing home. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Oran Cemetery in Northeast Palo Pinto County with the Rev. Bobby Williams officiating.

Zella was born in Comanche County, Texas, to the late W. M. and Ida Mae Crockett Purcer. She had lived in Levi, Texas, since 1972 and attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Robinson. She married Glenn E. Asmussen in 1959.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on Feb. 5, 1966; a son, Bobbie Joe Walker; a daughter, Edna Lee "Bit" Walker; a granddaughter, Sharon Walker; and a grandson, Lonnie Everett.

She is survived by her grandsons, Jerry Glenn Walker and wife, Sharon, of Lorena, and Bob Walker and wife, Elaine, of Malakoff; step-grandson, Ron Everett, of Grandview; great-grandchildren, Brian, Kendell, Kelsey, and Madelaine Walker, and Kammie Everett; step-great-grandchildren, Ronnie and Amanda Everett; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and other family and friends.
