Son of William Riley Blankenship and Emma E. Shell. Husband of Josephine Gross (married on December 21, 1924, in Wilkes County, NC). Cause of death: massive cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried on February 27, 1966. Veteran of WWI (United States Army). He was a retired farmer.

Philo Hall Blankenship
My father-in-law. Dad has on his farming clothes. He knew how to grow so many pumpkins they had to be hauled to the house in a wagon. He dug a big hole & put potatoes in it. Covered it over with a big mound of dirt. Potatoes stayed so firm.~~~~~~~He read Readers Digest & thick books whenever he wasn't farming.
Dad was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Dad's funeral service was on a Sunday Afternoon at 2 O' clock
