Carmie D. Barr, 75 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mr. Barr was born in Carroll County to the late Robert Thomas and Alma Mae Barr. He is survived by his wife Annie Ruth Barr of the home; daughter & son-in-law Roxanne & Dean Bowers, and brothers and daughter-in-law Dorless & Shelba Barr of Hillsville and Joseph Daniel (J.D.) Barr of Mount Airy, NC; six grandchildren Michael (Pudge) Bowers, Nikki Bowers, Cody Bowers, Matthew Herring, Marcus Barr, and Mason Barr; and two great grandchildren Aaraln Manns and Jordan Manns.
A memorial service was held Sunday at Green Mountain Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating.
Military rites were conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115.
Burial will be at Gladesboro Cemetery.
