John Chap was married three times. First wife Bef 1903 Mary Ann Chap, Second wife married 26 Jul 1919 Augusta Treichel Chap, Third wife Married 26 Aug 1933 Cora Belle. During his third marriage the spelling of his name changed to Chaap.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Florin Funeral Home for John Paul Chaap, 91, who died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl C. Haldy, North Shore Drive. The Rev. Stanley Buck, DD., pastor of the Methodist Peace Temple officiated, Mrs. George Rahn presided at the organ. Casket bearers were Lester and George Keister, Casey Lemmink, Andrew Anderson, Adolph Schultz and Bert Henderson. Burial was in Crystal Springs Cemetery. (provided by Karl Hamlin)
