Born in Galion, Ohio, Ella was a brilliant student who was enrolled at Oberlin, University. Once at University, she embraced such ideas as Universal suffrage, full legal rights for all women, and birth control. She also embraced the teachings of Victoria Woodhull and the concept of "Free Love", which put Ella at odds with social norms. She married thrice, first to Orra E. Monnette who a decade her junior, and after her divorce, from him, she married Isaac Hasket Lynch, a jeweler. She divorced Lynch, obtained her la degree, while and on vacation in Mexico met and married F. (Francis) Miron Warrington, a British citizen teaching romance languages. The couple were married in 1915 and enjoyed a twenty year marriage, until his passing. She taught until she fell ill and passed away.
