Frank W. Meighen, 74 years, of East Lincoln street, died Monday, November 7, 1960, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill a long time.

Mr. Meighen was a son of John and Lucinda Gordon Meighen and was born March 30, 1886, in Whiteley Township.

He had been employed by the Columbia Gas System and Peoples Natural Gas Company in the lease departments of both companies for ten years prior to his retirement in 1944. Mr. Meighen started teaching school at the age of 17, in the old Gordon School. He served as assistant county treasurer and assistant county prothonotary; as assistant cashier in the American National Bank in Waynesburg, and as a cashier in the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Mt. Morris.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church, and Waynesburg Lodge No. 153, F. & A. M., and was a past master of that lodge having served in 1914.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Anna, at home; one son, James D., of Monongahela; four grandchildren; three brothers, Mark Meighen of Washington; John L. Meighen of Dormont, and James L. Meighen of Waynesburg; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Porter of Washington; Mrs. Adeline Thomas of Washington, and Mrs. Kate Minton of Graysville.

Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
