"Former State Senator Allen J. Bloomfield, president of the village of Richfield Springs and of the Cherry Valley Towns Association, died in the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown at 10:30 Wednesday night, following an operation for a ruptured appendix. Active in Republican politics, he served for six years as state assemblyman, later as state senator and at the time of his death was a member of the Republican State committee. Mr. Bloomfield was born May 30, 1883, in Herkimer county, son of Charles and Elizabeth McCredy Bloomfield. He was graduated from Richfield Springs High school and from Columbia University, where he was a stellar baseball player under the now famous John McGraw ... He was twice married, to Mrs. Renelcha Eldican Tuller of New York City, who died 22 years ago, and about 1917 to Mrs. Ruby Newcomb Quick, Albany ... Besides his widow he leaves a step-son by his first wife, Hiram Henry Tuller, and a son by his first wife, Allen J. Bloomfield, Jr.; a stepdaughter by his second wife, Mrs. Perry White, and two children by his second wife, Elizabeth and Leila, all of Richfield Springs, and a brother, Russel, who resides on the old Bloomfield.
