Robert James "Bob" Garton 1946 - 2011

Robert James Garton passed away on January 11, 2011 at his home in Allen Tx.

Bob was born June 29, 1946 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Edna & Crayton Garton.

He graduated from Cache La Poudre High in 1964.

Bob and Louise were married for 19 years. Prior to living in Allen, Tx. They lived in Idaho were they owned and operated Tyhee Tire Company and then in Montana for 10 years where Bob's health caused him to retire from Brad Ragen Tire. Bob was a tire repair man for many years and loved to work on the large truck tires and off the road equipment tires in the mines of Idaho and Wyoming. He loved the mountains of Colorado, where he went camping, fishing and hunting. Bob enjoyed family get togethers for picnics and reunions. When he was younger he worked at the dairy in LaPorte, attended CSU, and raised his registered Hereford cattle.

His mother, and father, and older brother David preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife. Louise Garton; their sons; Doug Cookerly and his son Dylan of Santa Clara, Ca. Derek Cookerly and Annett and their daughter Ysabel, and son, Mego; and their daughter, Carol Flores and her son Anthony. who live with Bob and Louise in Allen, Texas. His brother Lewis Garton, wife Linda their 3 sons; Andy (Susan) Garton & daughter Anneliese; Sam (Norlene) Garton and daughters Thailene, Brook, Jordynn, son Dean; and Ed Garton. His sister Lois Daubert & 2 sons; Duane (Sandy) Daubert, and Shawn who was born on his birthday.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He loved his aunts, cousins and many friends; Who will be missed by all. His grandchildren were his joy and he loved his nephews as if they were his own children.

"Celebration of life" will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 22, 2011, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1404 East Main St, Allen, Tx 75002

Future celebrations of life will be in Fort Collins, Colo. and Bridger, Montana.
