Dorothy Brown, 95, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at a local hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roanoke Church of Christ, N. Walnut at Rusk, with Bryan Braswell officiating. Interment: Following the funeral service, Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Medlin Cemetery, Trophy Club. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Grapevine Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall St., Grapevine. Dorothy was proud of her service as a rural mail carrier working for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. She was a longtime member of the Roakoke Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by granddaughters, Monica Brown and Ronda Reed. Survivors: Dorothy is survived by sons, Gene Brown and wife, Anita, and Hugh "Bo" Brown and wife, Annette; daughters, Elaine Brown and Vondal Reed and husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Sharon Walker and husband, David, Bronwyn Williams and husband, George, Sandra Reed, Phyllis Green and husband, Rod, Michelle Edmonson and husband, Don, and Mindy Waldrop and husband, Jeff; great-grandchildren, Lyndsie Graves, Kelsie Jones and husband, Jason, Kyle Graves, Kody Williams, Claire Green, Rand Green, Kristen Kuhr, Charla Waldrop and Chelsea Waldrop.
