Sir John de Harington of Aldingham.

Son of Sir John de Haverington, 1st Baron Harington and his first wife, Juliana Burlingham 1283-1307. Grandson of Sir Robert Harington and Agnes de Cancefield, and Richard Burlingham.

Sir John married Katherine de Banasrtre, the daughter of Adam Banasrtre and Margaret de Holland. Granddaughter of Thomas de Banastre of Bretherton and Joan de Singleton, Thurstan de Holland and Margaret de Kellet. They had the following children:
* Sir Nicholas de Harington
* Isabel de Harington, wife of Sir Thomas Tunstall
* Thomas de Harington
* Maud de Harington, wife of Roger Coppledike

After his mother died in 1306, his father married Joan Dacre and had William, Sir Robert and Michael.Sir John Haryngton settled at Farleton, in Mellin parish, and married Katherine, sole daughter and heir of her father Sir Adam Bannister, Knight. Sir Adam was beheaded in 1315, and Katherine was his fourth daughter and co-heir of her mother Margaret, sister of Sir Robert de Holland, father of the first Lord Holland, founder of the Priory of Up-Holland in Lancashire. Katherine was nurse to Queen Philippa, wife of Edward III.
Sir John, was the younger brother of Sir Robert Haryngton, Knight.
In Sep. 1358, Henry, Duke of Lancaster, granted to John de Haryngton of Farleton a lease of the manor of Hornby. He also held manors of Bolton-le-Moors, Chorley and Aighton. He went to London in the King's service in 1258.
John and Katherine's children are shown as Robert, Thomas, and Nicholas.
