Andrew S. Ainsworth was the son of William Ainsworth and his first wife, Lucretia Smith, either in Howard couny, Missouri, or Cedar district in what became Cedar county, Missouri. As a young man he went with relatives to California and was a farmer in Sonoma and Lake counties for many years. He returned to New Franklin where he died. Andrew made out a will listing his siblings as his heirs.
