Jasper F. Bongiorno of Endicott Jasper F. Bongiorno, 76, of Endicott, died at his residence on Friday, January 9, 2004. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothea; a sister, Angie Sorrentino; his in-laws, Vito and Angela Milazzo; and a granddaughter, Sarah Renee Bongiorno. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family; his wife, Catherine Bongiorno, Endicott; a daughter and son-in-law, Debora and Frederick Russell, Binghamton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Susan Bongiorno and Jasper and Nicole Bongiorno, all of Endicott; his grandchildren, Derek and Jonnathan Russell, Vanessa, Morgan Lynn, Thomas Jay Bongiorno; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Dominic Rossi, Calif., Petrina Mattarell, Annie Bonventre and Gaspare Sorrentino, all of Endicott; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Joanne Bongiorno and Tony and Joan Bongiorno, all of Endicott; and his other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Allan and Maize Shaw, Seneca Falls, N.Y., Frances Romano, Endicott, Anne Milazzo, Fla., and Frank and Carol Milazzo, Troy, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, a retired plaster mason for Andrew R. Mancini and Associates and I.B.M. Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army in both WW II and the Korean War. Jasper enjoyed his daily "Coffee Group" with his brothers and friends, he took great pride and joy in his children and grandchildren, always lending a helping hand where needed. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 200 Grippen Avenue, Endicott, N.Y. 13760 or the Neo-Natal Unit at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Harrison Street, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.
