Daniel Steven Tess, age 26, of San Francisco, CA, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 25, 2004.
Dan was born March 10, 1978 in Two Rivers. He was the beloved son of Steven and Barbara (Geigel) Tess and admired older brother.
Dan began his education at Koenig Elementary School in Two Rivers and transferred into the Sheboygan Public School system when the family moved here in 1985. He was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, class of 1996 and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and UW-Sheboygan.
While attending Sheboygan North High School, Dan was a member of the football and track teams and heartily enjoyed being a cheerleader for basketball. Dan was a passionate mountain bike enthusiast entering and medaling in many competitions, most recently placing fifth as an expert during a race in California. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and wore his cheesehead proudly. Dan spent most of his free time riding his bike in the mountains of California and traveling throughout the United States and Mexico, always looking forward to the promise of a beautiful tomorrow.
Dan was currently employed at two jobs he absolutely loved: as manager of Summit Bicycles in San Rafael, CA, and as a certified personal trainer for Bally's Gorilla Sports in San Francisco.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brothers; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; aunts and uncles; cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his aunt and godmother: Kristy Tess.
A celebration of Dan's life will take place with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2004 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Rev. James E. Connell will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will welcome friends Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels and at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a prayer service Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels.
Dan was a special treasure sent to us by God. He lived every day of his life here on earth as an exclamation of hope and joy. God and His angels will keep Daniel safe until we meet again in His heavenly kingdom.
