WORCESTER - Peter Anthony Brotherton, 49, of Worcester died Thursday May 15 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Kathleen S. (Henry) Brotherton, four brothers, Arthur D.Brotherton of Lynnwood; Kent Brotherton of Northbridge; Mark A. Brotherton of Holden; Luke A. Brotherton of Uxbridge; a sister, Kim A. Georgio of Worcester; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by two brothers, Rex Brotherton and Paul A. Brotherton. He was born in Worcester, a son of the late George A. and Helen A. (Becker) Brotherton.

Mr. Brotherton was a Tech Sergeant and Crew Chief with the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. He had also served 6 years in the United States Army. During that time, Peter received several commendations with the Air Force including the Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon and Outstanding Unit. He also served during Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom. Peter was a member of the Tatnuck Post 288, American Legion and was a member of Christ the King Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and playing with his dogs Tabatha and Skyler. Besides any subject related to aircraft and flight, Peter was also enthusiastic about ghost hunters and the paranormal. He was a graduate of Burncoat Senior High School before starting his military career.

The funeral will be held on Monday May 19, 2008 with a service at 10:00 a.m. in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street. Burial with military honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
