Plainville Times - 5 May 1960
Edward Hubert Bissett was born April 6, 1889, at Ellis, Kansas to Hubert Bissett and Louise Adams. He departed this life at St. Joseph's hospital, Concordia, Kansas on April 26, 1960 at the age of 71 years and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Clara Rempe at Plainville, Kansas, on October 16, 1912. To this union six children were born, namely: Sister Mary Donata, Concordia, Kansas; Wilfred of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Bernard Stahl, Plainville, Kansas; Robert of Littleton Colo.; Mrs. Joseph Stahl, Plainville, and Herman of Logan, Kans. There are 24 living grandchildren children. Mr. Bissett was a resident of Rooks county until 1945 when he moved to Logan, Kansas. The past year he has lived in Concordia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Bissett; two grandsons, James and Steven Stahl; three sisters, Alma, Mrs. Ida Weaverling, and Mrs. Mary Plante; two brothers, Lewis and Gilbert. Those of his family still living are Mrs. Cecelia Huffer, Grand Junction, Colo.; Mrs. J.A. Westhusin, Plainville; Arthur of Casper, Wyo.; Leo of Harvey, Ill.; Alfred of Fortuna, Calif.; Adelore of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Elmer Hunter of Denver, Colo.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 29, 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Plainville, with Rev. Father Weimer Officiating. Pallbearers were Leo Rempe, Joseph Westhusin, Jr., Louis Rempe, Clarence Bissett, Paul Rempe and Joseph Malin. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Plainville with the Mosher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Sister Donata, Sister Joseph Raphael, Sister Antoinella, Sister Fidelis, Sister Francis Joanne, Sister Janet, Sister Edwardine and Sister Marie Raoul, all of Concordia; Wilfred Bissett, Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs Robert Bissett, Littleton, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bissett, Logan; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bissett, Casper, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hunter, Denver; Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Plante and family, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Frasca, Bogue; Mrs. Arthur Plante, Damar; Mr. Clem Rempe, Milwaukee, Wisc.; Mrs. Margaret Gregory, Kansas City, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bedore, Mr. Elmer Bedore and Lonnie Bedore all of Stockton; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bedore and Joann of Damar; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rempe, Zurich; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Brockman, Lawrence, Nebr.; Mrs. Loretta Lemke and Mrs. Dora Hoelting, Superior, Nebr.; and Mr. and Mrs. Jules Lapin of Logan, Kans.
