Sidney Louis Eckstein was the son, and only child, of Louis Eckstein (1891-1917), and Lillian (Davidson) Eckstein (1898-1969), and a grandson of Simon Davidson and Jennie (Simansky) Davidson. He was the great-grandson of Isaac Davidson (1817-1912).
